Scholarship

The IACC Student Scholarship Program is dedicated to empowering the next generation of Iranian-American leaders by providing financial support to undergraduate and graduate students of Iranian descent enrolled at accredited colleges and universities in Florida. This scholarship offers up to $1,000 per academic year, with a maximum award of $2,000, easing the financial burden of higher education while fostering academic excellence and community involvement.

The scholarship is open to students who demonstrate commitment to both their academic pursuits and the Iranian-American community. Recipients are encouraged to give back through volunteer service, strengthening community ties, and promoting a spirit of unity and pride. This program is made possible through the generous support of donors and fundraising efforts, which are dedicated exclusively to helping students achieve their educational aspirations.

 

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the IACC Student Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Background: Applicants must have at least one parent of Iranian descent.

  • Enrollment: Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at a nationally accredited college or university in Florida.

  • Academic Standards: Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Completed Credits: Must have successfully completed at least one academic year at their current college or university.

  • Proof of Enrollment: Provide documentation confirming full-time enrollment status.

Scholarship Details

  • Award: Up to $1,000 per year, with a lifetime maximum of $2,000 per student.
  • Renewal: Scholarships are not automatically renewed; students must reapply annually, with eligibility capped at two years.
  • Continuation Requirements: All eligibility requirements must be met to receive the second-semester payment.

Payment Schedule

Scholarship payments are mailed directly to recipients in August for the fall semester and January for the spring semester.

 

Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients are required to:

  • Submit full transcripts whenever requested by IACC.

  • Promptly inform IACC of any changes to contact information, enrollment status, or other relevant details.

  • Contribute a minimum of 10 community service hours each semester or complete a project/task aligned with their field of expertise that meaningfully supports IACC’s mission.

Program Terms

IACC reserves the right to:

  • Assess the qualifications and eligibility of all applicants based on submitted materials and the judgment of the IACC Board of Directors.
  • Review and adjust the terms and procedures of the scholarship program, including its potential termination, at any time.

Application Process

To apply, students must:

    1. Complete and submit the IACC Scholarship Application Form.

    2. Include a full transcript, recommendation letter, and documentation of enrollment.

    3. Ensure the application is submitted online by July 31st for consideration in the upcoming academic year.

    4. Submit a Personal Statement outlining their ideas for serving the Iranian community and how they plan to implement them. These statements will help shape interview questions and guide the selection process.

    5. Participate in an individual Zoom interview to discuss their commitment to IACC’s mission and their plans to contribute to the Iranian community.

Additional Information

  • Applications are reviewed once per year.
  • Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all required information.
  • Priority is given to applicants residing in Central Florida, particularly in Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Volusia, Brevard, and Lake counties.

Support the Program

The IACC Student Scholarship Program is funded through donations and fundraising efforts. All contributions are deposited into a dedicated account reserved exclusively for the scholarship fund.
