Moein Koohestani
Moein Koohestani is a Ph.D. candidate in Kinesiology at the University of Central Florida, with an expected graduation in Summer 2026. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Sports Biomechanics. A former professional badminton player, Moein’s athletic career inspired him to change fields and pursue research at the intersection of sport and science.
His research focuses on brain–muscle communication to better understand neurological adaptations following knee injuries in athletes. He also brings extensive teaching experience in Human Anatomy, including cadaver-based instruction. Beyond academics, Moein is passionate about badminton, volleyball, dancing, and teaching, and he looks forward to giving back to the community by helping moderate cultural and dance events with IACC.
